"Mental Health Training for Allied and Home Health Professionals"

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) Gerontology Center collaborated with the Retirement Research Foundation to create a training program for allied and home health professionals about mood disorders in their elderly patients. It is our goal that this training program will enable  trainees to identify, screen, discuss with, and effectively refer for treatment older persons in their care who may have mood disorders. We also believe that this training will help you prevent burnout with this difficult patient population. We are offering 10 contact hours for FREE to the first 75 PT professionals who participate in this CD-based training!

Please contact us at
mhtp@uccs.edu if interested.

**PLEASE NOTE**: APTA is opposed, as a matter of health care policy, to arrangements under which sources of referral (including physicians) stand to profit from referring patients for physical therapy. The policy, adopted by the House of Delegates, states: "The American Physical Therapy Association opposes ... participation in services that is in any way linked to the financial gain of the referral source." Financial Considerations in Practice (HOD 06-99-13-17).

Because of this policy, APTA/Colorado Chapter’s Job & Services Store does not accept job listings for positions in a practice if any physician has a financial interest in the practice and refers patients to an employed physical therapist or to a physical therapist who supervises an employed physical therapist assistant.
