2006 Legislative Breakfast
at the State Capitol

The APTA Colorado Chapter has sponsored an annual "Legislative Breakfast" on the Mezzanine at the State Capitol in Denver for more than 23 years. This year the event was held on Wednesday, April 5. The venue again was a highly successful means of meeting and renewing relationships with more than half of all State Representatives and Senators in one session. Legislators and staff wandered by for coffee and conversation between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m.

Newly appointed Sen. Betty Boyd (D-Lakewood) and Audrey Waldron, PT, Boulder, discuss health care issues at the breakfast.

Betsy Annesser, PT, Golden, right, presents a Relax the Back inflatable pillow to Rep. John Soper (D-Thornton) after receiving an ergonomics screen from Kim Bozich, PT, Highlands Ranch, center. Relax the Back provided chairs and other ergonomic office products for the breakfast.

Sen. Abel Tapia (D-Pueblo), Joint Budget Committee vice chair, receives ergonomics tips from Betsy Annesser.

Senate Minority Leader Andy McElhany (R-Colorado Springs), right, visits with his constituent Phil Plante, PT, OCS, Colorado Springs.

Rep. Bernie Buescher (D-Grand Junction) renews acquaintances with Marcia Smith, PT, PhD, Denver, who grew up in his district.

Rep. Ray Rose (R-Montrose) tells Audrey Waldron about excellent PT services he received from an APTA member at home.
