Colorado Chapter representatives
joined with hundreds of others on April 1st to march on the nation's capitol to acquaint congressional
representatives and senators and their staffs on issues related
to health care and physical therapy. The Chapter group of three
met with eight of Colorado's nine-member Congressional
delegation.
Among those attending were
PTs Ira Gorman, Chief Delegate and APTA federal affairs liaison,
Evergreen; former Chapter President Kenda Fuller, PT, Denver,
and Executive Director / Lobbyist Ellen Caruso. Issues discussed
were:
w
Repealing the Therapy Cap;
w
Allowing patients direct access to
physical therapy under the Medicare program;
w
Adding PTs to the Student Loan
Repayment act.
