PT Student Cameron Lyons is Honored

The 2005 recipient of the Pauline Cerasoli Academic and Clinical Excellence Award is an individual who is going to serve this profession well.

This student has thoroughly impressed the faculty, clinical educators and his peers as he has progressed through the doctoral program in physical therapy at Regis University. His qualities encompass all the characteristics one would script in depicting an ideal PT as well as an ideal human being. Some of these qualities include: an exceptional work ethic, high integrity standards; excellent leadership virtues, in and outside of the classroom; exceptional communication skills and a consistent commitment to the profession and Vision 2020.

He has served as a leader in the classroom assisting other students with their learning thereby modeling the adult learning process. He has participated in numerous community service activities to include Wilderness on Wheels, The Colorado Special Olympics Soccer tournament and Channel 9 Health Fair to just name a few. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists.

He was the lead investigator of a research project titled "Pitcher Profile of Elite Youth" which has been accepted for presentation at the 2005 APTA National Conference and was elected the 2005 graduating class president.

He is completing his doctoral work with a 3.6 GPA and had the top score on the comprehensive final exam. One of his professors not only praises his clinical and professional accolades but states "Cameron is one of the most amazing individuals I have ever had the pleasure to know".

It is with great pleasure that the Colorado Chapter recognizes Cameron Lyons for his achievements and provides him with this award.
