Private Practice SIG Honored
for Outstanding Job Promoting Physical
Therapy Month

PR Award 2005 -- Each year, the Colorado Chapter recognizes the clinic or facility that does the most outstanding job in promoting physical therapy during October - which is National Physical Therapy Month.

This year's award goes to many people in many PT practices who worked actively on PT Month 2004.

Inspired and led by Paul O'Brian, PT, CSCS, and his key staff member Dianne Steppe at Accelerate Physical Therapy in Arvada, the Private Practice SIG responded to the call. Paul coordinated an expanded statewide "mayoral" proclamation project. Paul and his staff wrote to mayors throughout the state, asked them proclaim PT Month in their community and matched them with local Physical Therapists.

Proclamations - that we know for sure - were made in 16 cities: Arvada, Aspen, Boulder, Brighton, Broomfield, Denver, Durango, Estes Park, Grand Junction, Lakewood, Littleton, Montrose, Pueblo, Thornton, Westminster, and Wheat Ridge (by our own Gretchen Cerveny, PT, Mayor).

In addition, the Private Practice SIG duplicated and distributed a video to Colorado cable TV channels.

Congratulations to the Private Practice SIG for making Physical Therapists visible during PT Month 2004!
