Outstanding Promotion of PT Month

Accelerate Physical Therapy in Arvada

Each year, the Colorado Chapter recognizes the clinic or facility that does the most outstanding job in promoting physical therapy during October – which is National Physical Therapy Month. 

This year’s award goes to Paul O’Brian, PT, CSCS,  and his staff at Accelerate Physical Therapy in Arvada.  Paul took PT Month to a new level in 2003 by coordinating a statewide “mayoral” proclamation project. Paul and his staff gathered the names and addresses of mayors throughout the state and matched them with Physical Therapists in their community. 

Proclamations - that we know for sure - were made in
Durango
Westminster
Thornton
Wheat Ridge (by our own Gretchen Cerveny, Mayor)
And of course, Physical Therapy Month was again proclaimed by Paul’s
own City of Arvada.

There were probably other proclamations that we did not receive notice..

In addition to proclamations, there were:

 - Banners with the “Connect with Physical Therapy” theme along with previous years’ banners were on display throughout the month, proudly advertising the profession of Physical Therapy

 - PT brochures, stickers and promotional items provided to individuals who visited the Accelerate Physical Therapy offices.

 - A mailing announcing PT Month went out to health professionals in the surrounding communities.

- Plus many other small promotional efforts aimed at raising public awareness of physical therapy.

 Paul’s interest in Public Relations / Marketing of the physical therapist profession in Colorado is outstanding. Paul walks the talk when it comes to PR and we hope success comes back to him three – fold!  Congratulations to Paul O’Brian and staff at Accelerate Physical Therapy.
